The beginning of 2026 at the Pirouette Ballet Studio started off stellar! Our students had the exceptional privilege of meeting one of the most beloved and respected Bulgarian ballet dancers – the premier soloist of the Sofia Opera and Ballet, a teacher at the National Academy of Performing Arts and a charismatic media star – Nikola Hadjitanev.
Nikola held three special master classes, during which the children from the studio had the opportunity not only to experience Hadjitanev's virtuoso technique and stage experience, but also to draw from his passion for art, discipline, and inspiration.
The excitement of our students from these classes was great! One of the students shared the following words with us after the first class with the star of the Bulgarian ballet:
"I watched Nikola Hadjitanev in the performance "Don Quixote" when my mother took me to the ballet for the first time. I was captivated by the dance and the role he performed! Nikola danced with Marta Petkova and that's when I first fell in love with ballet! I can't believe that a few years later he came to the hall where we rehearse and leads our class! Meeting him in person is a dream come true for me, for which I thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
The meeting was made possible thanks to the dedication of our artistic director – Asya Eneva, who tirelessly gives children opportunities to meet the most prominent representatives of ballet art in our country. Here is what she shares:
"Working with Nikola was a real gift for our children. He always manages to combine high demands with sincere support and encouragement of the young dancers, which is an extremely rare quality. It is important to me that the children not only work conscientiously, but also be inspired. And who better to inspire them than a person who has not only successfully walked this path with faith, a lot of work and love, but also manages to preserve humanity and remain firmly on the ground - with a sincere heart, kindness and respect for everyone, regardless of age or experience.
Nikola Hadjitanev is not only a star on the Bulgarian stage, but also a true inspiration for young talents. With his openness, charisma and humanity, he left an unforgettable memory in the hearts of all our students.
