The international branch of the Pirouette Ballet Studio in Dubai has brought pride of place in its first season. Under the leadership of Asya Eneva – founder and artistic director of the studio – the graduates of the newly opened branch made their first stage debut and performed brilliantly at the prestigious international festival “Art in Motion”. (Изкуство в движение).
The festival, which brought together participants from different countries, gave the young ballet dancers the opportunity to perform in front of a large audience and an authoritative international jury – a challenge that our students met with professionalism, artistry and courage.
Chloe Shchebel – a student of Asya Eneva, was awarded the first prize in the category “Classical Ballet – Solo”, who performed a variation from the ballet “The Badly Protected Girl” with exceptional precision and stage presence. Her performance impressed the jury and proved that the high standards and attention to detail imposed by Eneva’s methodology give fast and sustainable results.
Another exciting achievement marked the studio’s participation: the only five-year-old Bulgarian Mira Petkova, the youngest participant of the festival, captivated the audience with her charm and confidence on stage. She performed “The Little Swan" in the original choreography of Asya Eneva and received a special award for artistic performance and promising talent.
“Seeing how these children, despite their short experience and the anxiety of their first appearance on stage, become artists in front of the audience was an unforgettable moment. I am proud not only of the awards, but also of the way they coped – with discipline, class and inspiration,” says Asya Eneva.
These successes only confirm that the philosophy of the Pirouette Ballet Studio – building strong technique, stage culture and love for the art – is universal and sustainable, regardless of geography. With this impressive start, the studio in Dubai is already emerging as a new center for high-level ballet training.
After a year of active work in the United Arab Emirates, Asya Eneva shares:
“I see a great need for children here to engage in art! The luxurious and carefree lifestyle in Dubai, which often surrounds adolescents, creates a feeling of ease and a lack of need to make efforts or fight in a certain direction. And efforts and work are always needed for everything in life, if we want to achieve success and be fulfilled. That is why ballet is an activity for which I notice a great need among young people, because it instills in them discipline, ambition and a desire for fighting. The best of all, however, is that I already see in the children the unique spark in their eyes when they enter the hall, and the love for ballet – which for me is the greatest reward!”
With this dedication, vision and sincere care for children, Ballet Studio Pirouette confidently continues its path – now not only in Bulgaria, but also on the international stage. We are excitedly awaiting the next steps and new ballet posts!
